There’s a wedding cake…and then there’s a WEDDING CAKE.
Here’s just a fun small detail from the fabulous cake featured at this past Saturday’s wedding. I’ll share more later - both the cake and wedding in full ;)

Okay, these are going to be pretty random.
I had such a great time yesterday with Erin and Adam. I got to bounce around, work with a bestie, create art, go out of town, curse a GPS, dance a little, manage some crazy weather, laugh a lot, meet new friends, and make fun of Vance Waldron - what more could you really ask for?
I’m going to try to put up some images that grab me for some reason or another. I’m REALLY trying to slowly but surely get to the point where I actually post an entire session or wedding on this blog…we’ll see. In the meantime, I’m just…expanding a bit. So, that translates to - more than one image.
Sometimes it’s just going to rain. And it’s good luck on your wedding day!

A prep shot I found interesting…

Me, throwing my hair up, and shedding my formal attire to get down and dirty…

In order to get this!

And I just love this. Somewhat abstract, pretty, dramatic, dreamy, moody, shadowed, intriguing…all the things I like.

There really is no rhyme or reason to this post. I just like things that are pretty, dramatic, emotional, or interesting. End of story.
With that said, here are a few images I have been working with today that speak to me in some way…

Seriously. How do I get these clients? Luckiest girl in the world - that’s me.
Man, I love this image from this past Saturday.

Congratulations Erin and Adam!
I’m not really a huge detail shooter, but I thought this shot turned out pretty interesting. I like the setting of this engagement ring a lot, and the way it stands out in this image.

I grabbed this image while my clients were taking cover from the rain before their ceremony. Right after this, it started hailing in Atlanta. I like that this image happened organically, while they were waiting on me to pack up and get an umbrella…and I love the contrast of the grungy, rusty setting and these perfect looking people…

Because I’m obsessed with skies…

Meet Ashley and Owen, the totally awesome and completely hot, newly married, Mr. and Mrs. Peak.

So, while we were out shooting a series of night portraits in the rain - with horses none the less - their approximately 800 guests were indulging in some delicious wedding favors.
But what exactly do you do when you have a very large guest list and still want a very personal touch? Apparently you bake…a lot. Ashley’s grandmother set out a couple of days before the wedding to begin baking homemade chocolate chip cookies for every guest. Other family members pitched in to help, and they actually pulled it all off! The cookies were placed five to a box, and packaged in ribbon and stickers that tied in to the wedding colors. (For the record, that is THOUSANDS of cookies).
And they were EVERY bit just as delicious as they look. What is more personal than Grandma’s homemade cookies? I just love the southern hospitality of these favors, and the thoughtfulness and love behind them.

This is just a great concept! Maybe I’m really biased because I’m fascinated with cooking and baking, as I’m a little challenged in that department. Regardless, the cookies kicked some major rear…and I want one right now…
