The Bound By Studio : An internationally award-winning photography boutique owned by two successful young women in a business and artistic partnership, Bound By is the evolution of two creatives wanting to push the boundaries and dream bigger.
We’re Amelia and Graham, the founders and photographers of Bound By! Technology nerds obsessed with fashion and always on the go, we can be found wearing quirky glasses and carrying around indie magazines in oversize handbags on a daily basis.
A dynamic duo that bring out the best in each other and absolutely love what we do, we invest wholeheartedly in each of our clients. Our focus on the unique and personal experience we provide as a studio is an integral part of who we are as artists and what connects us to our clientele. Our style is emotional, whimsical, quirky, sensual, and fun, with a distinct love of the dramatic. We flirt with opposition and juxtaposition, and love a hidden meaning. As fine art photographers who also house a successful fashion and editorial photography business, we are somewhat unique in the wedding industry. We blend a contemporary yet original vision with a classical philosophy of the arts. With collegiate honors in studio art and graphic design, we both have a film-based education and graduated with multiple collegiate honors.
Above all else, we are storytellers at heart. We are visionaries who dream big and create with boldness. Our greatest hope is to make a difference with our art.
Please take note of the following: we think outside the box, push ourselves to create an amazing experience, firmly believe sequins are often the answer - to most anything, pour our hearts and souls into our craft, boast an unbelievable work ethic (one of us routinely works on a laptop at the movie theater), drink way too much caffeine, love to shoot in cocktail attire and rock some heels, bonded over Johnny Cash but also treasure an affinity for Phil Collins…obviously.
We have traveled the world together, capturing its beauty, chasing our dreams, and accumulating astounding amounts of air miles. Devoting ourselves to mastering TSA checkpoints and iPhone maps, we learned to look for humor in bizarre experiences, revel in endless crazy adventures, and appreciate the challenges of constant companionship. We conquered extensive travel and dominated our demanding schedules. Clearly we made a great team. Over the last couple of years, our collaborations increased and we began developing new and innovative approaches to shooting as equal visionaries. As a pair, we saw the world differently. Between us there was a sum greater than the parts - a more mature and detailed eye, a malleable point of view, a broader knowledge base, a heightened desire to epitomize a storyteller by conveyed truth in our art, a bold creativity and intense passion - it was an intoxicating realization. Inspired and driven, the desire to work together more consistently resulted in an enigmatic dynamic, which was both unique and enviably rare. Unexpectedly stumbling into a magnetic relationship, we chose to further cultivate our bond, deciding to work towards a partnership. Our relationship and determination has proved undeniably alluring to our clients and hugely successful for our business. The dynamic duo we’ve become has enabled us to boldly reach for our goals on our own terms. We were able to stay true to ourselves, our vision, our dreams, and our focus on the art and experience. By strategically building the foundation for Bound By on solid ground, we were able to start our company based on quality, service, honesty and hard work. This has served us very well. We’re able to be our very best, and also have our clients’ best interest at heart and at work.
When Bound By launched in late 2011, we were already working with a discerning international clientele and had established an elite reputation. The studio and our work has been published and featured by the most respected publishing houses in the world.
