I’m not sure if this is a previously coined term or not. As you may know, I am married, so I therefore feel that I can talk about this phenomenon with a little personal experience. Occasionally in a serious relationship - way past the DTR - a girl suddenly realizes that things are seemingly stagnant. (Which may or may not be a realistic observation). Regardless, when one has reached this point…either they start walking, or its gauntlet time. You know what I’m talking about. It has been done millions of ways, this throwing down of the marriage gauntlet. A friend and I recently discussed how great it would be to see ESPN 8 (The Ocho) do a commentary on a real-life couple in the midst of such a throwing. Something along these lines: “Oh, it looks like she’s reaching for her handbag…and…yep, she’s going in…and…OH BOY, she is holding a gauntlet! Is she going to go all out for the throw-down?!? I haven’t seen this on their tape, it looks like a brand new move! For all of you watching from home, he is completely and totally focused on her form folks…”

Yea for Meghan and Byron! I had such a great time with these two as we shot their engagement pictures at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

It was about time to take these shots - they’ve been together since their sophomore year in high school!

Congratulations to a really great couple! I’m looking forward to the wedding….

I have some serious stories to post…and no clue where to start. Unfortunately, I have had some issues posting my images from the laptop I’ve been traveling with. Due to the crazy schedule I’ve been keeping and the lack of any posting ability, the fabulous things I want to share have been stacking up out of control! Just a preview of all the posts to come about this last week - there are all kinds of ridiculous stories involving everything from a new photographic sorority to the 143 new text messages I presently have on my blackberry. And of course there are all kinds of beautiful images to come :)

So my life was revolutionized yesterday when Melissa Jill downloaded Skype onto my laptop. Apparently Dixie, a miniature Schnauzer, was in dire need of a video conference with MJ, and Skype was the way to make that happen. When your dog is back home in Arizona and you are in Ireland, you have to nurture the relationship by any means possible you know? Following her own conference call, MJ made a profile for me and then talked me and the hubs through our own Skype connection - which was simply fabulous! I was pumped to actually SEE Jason and of course he was pumped to converse with me for free. Any true finance professional would be. The best was getting to watch him do his fake smile during the occasional data transferal delays. All said, Skype rocks and Dixie is pretty dang cute…but Gracie’s computer skills are far superior.

IRELAND! So I was looking for a leprechaun…but found Brett and Cristi instead. Kinvara is absolutely beautiful and I’m so thrilled about my time here. Get excited - there are a whole lot of limericks coming soon to a blog near you!
