CASSIE AND RYAN - IN A LAKE

This morning I was in a lake in Tennessee.  IN a lake.  If you know me personally, you know how astounding that statement is.  For Cassie and Ryan, I would do pretty much anything though…they’re worth it…and so are the series we shot this morning for their day after.

#29 - CHECK!

fashion12

Crazy high-fashion vintage shoot with friends - check! I LOVE checking things off the 101 in 1001 list! Last week we set out on this endeavor - in the middle of a completely slammed schedule - and it ended up being a whirlwind of fun. Note to self: working and shooting with friends just for the fun of photography, will bring back the heartbeat of your passion.

The day started off with some pretty intense sessions with master stylist extraordinaire, Fran Chaiprakob, a freelance artist based out of Salon U. What an amazing talent she has! Seriously, the creativity and inspiration she brought made the transformations actually come to life. Fran’s hairstyles created the foundation for the look and feel of the shoot - which was incredible! She has a blog coming soon, and as soon as it launches I’ll definitely give you all the link so you can check it out!

Next, the girls headed off to meet up with Jennifer Matthews, an absolutely incredible freelance make-up artist of Porcelain and Pink. This girl might have some magical powers. Her work is unbelievable! She perfectly brought each look together, and took our whole vision to a whole new level. You should definitely check her out!

To bring it all to life, the lovely Kelly played wardrobe stylist and hooked up our girls up with some great vintage clothing from Zoe’s in Forest Park. Now that we were all set to go, the whole entourage headed out to shoot in historic Irondale - which served as the perfect backdrop for our vintage theme. Right off the bat, we got kicked off the train tracks - awesome. And so we took to the vintage scenery and gorgeous colors that Irondale has to work with. Interesting side note: we shot a lot in and around The Irondale Cafe, which was the original “Whistle Stop Cafe” that the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was based on.

I can’t possibly say enough about our models! These two girls are true friends of my heart. We have been in a bible study together for three years and they are both very dear to me. Both have a spirit of laughter and fun and a heart for the Lord. So, without further adieu, here are my stunning friends Emily and Ruthie as fashionista vintage bombshells…

Ashley, our amazing ballerina, was all about some urban fashion..and this was one of the most fun afternoons I’ve had in a while. The images are all across the board, and I think that brings some really cool elements into the post-production. Check out Jamie Burnett’s blog for some killer images!
